we met the old fashioned way: j-swipe! mazel tov!

We figured our plans for Sunday, February 8, 2015, like most Sundays in New York, would involve more seamless and less falling in love. But, after a three-hour first date, we were hooked. Even a few poorly-timed naps (Caitlyn flat out fell asleep mid date number two at New York establishment Joe’s Shangai), failed athletic performances (turns out Carey talks a bigger table tennis game than he plays), and the imminent reality of a long-distance relationship could not stop this train.

But it was not until our road trip from New York through Dayton, Ohio (home of the United States Air Force Museum) to Nashville six months in that we realized we could go the distance. As we discovered our shared love for factoid podcasts, estate gardens, and Prince’s Hot Chicken, it quickly became clear that “we” were the real deal.

Fast forward two cities, five apartments, five neighborhoods, three years of law school, one bar exam (points for Carey for teaching Caitlyn torts), four jobs, and one Super Bowl CHAMPIONSHIP team (points for Caitlyn for learning the names of every player) and we are ready to get hitched!

We would not be us without all of you and we are VERY excited to celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together with the people who have made it one PHENOMENAL ride.

Get pumped for May 2020!
